Cherie DeVille Profiled in New Kinkly Piece, “Is Porn Ethical?”

“Over the past decade, I’ve witnessed a significant evolution in the adult industry. On the positive side, we’ve seen increased acceptance and normalization of adult content. Platforms like OnlyFans have empowered performers to take control of their careers, finances and creative content, allowing for a more direct connection with our audience. This shift towards independent content creation has provided us with greater autonomy and financial stability.”

She also admits, “It’s not all positive; the constant threat of censorship and de-platforming looms large. Social media platforms and payment processors often impose restrictive policies, which can be both frustrating and financially damaging. These policies are frequently inconsistent and disproportionately target sex workers, reflecting broader societal stigmas that we are continuously fighting against.”

DeVille, who is also featured in a new Forbes article profiling award-winning adult filmmaker Ricky Greenwood, “How The Hardest Working Director In Porn Gets The Job Done”, adds that “positive change in our industry often comes from a combination of social and political shifts, as well as broader cultural trends.

“Advocating for sex workers’ rights and pushing for legislation that protects us rather than criminalizes us is crucial. Engaging with lawmakers and being part of the conversation helps to ensure that our voices are heard.”
