1. How and when did you get started in the adult entertainment industry?
I initially started in 2015 with adult retail as a sales associate. Over the course of a decade, I would eventually venture into camming, go-go dancing, stripping, nude modeling, live sex shows and BDSM performances, activism and advocacy work, and eventually, in 2019, pornography. I released my first self-produced porno in November of 2019 and never looked back!
2. What advice would you give to yourself when you were new, if you could send your past self a message from the future?
I would work smarter, not necessarily harder. I would push myself to be more business minded and to take this work more seriously as a business.
3. Who inspired you when you first started, if anyone, and who inspires you now or is a person you would maybe like to work with in the future? What attracted or attracts you to them?
I’ve always been inspired by Ana Foxxx, Kira Noir, Adriana Chechik, and Angela White. These women have carried themselves with grace and tenacity in all they do, and I’m constantly inspired by their beauty, talent, sex appeal, work ethic, and marketing.
4. What has been your favorite scene/shoot/show or event etc. of your career, and why?
I’d have to say my hardcore work for Legal Porno overseas in Prague, Czech Republic, has been my favorite stuff to shoot. I absolutely love shooting hardcore gangbangs. They’ve become second nature for me and feel so fun and natural to shoot. I love the way the European boys fuck, and I love how they have comradery with each other and know how to work well together to make a great scene.
5. How do you know when you need a break, and what does “taking a break” from your usual daily activities mean for you?
My body always tells me when it’s time for me to take a break. Whether it be fatigue, illness, or any other physical manifestation of burn out, I always pay attention to when it’s time to rest and nourish my body and mind. A big part of taking breaks for me includes turning my phone off.
6. What’s your most-viewed comfort movie(s), and what are your usual snacks to go alongside?
My go-to comfort movies are Mean Girls, The Notebook, and Easy A, and my accompanying snacks are chocolate chip cookies and pistachio ice cream!
7. What makes you smile on a daily basis – whether a side hobby/project, an important place, or a familiar face in your life?
Daily, my cat Albert makes me smile. He is my reason for everything, and I love him so much!
8. Do you have any exciting news or plans in the coming months for folks to look forward to?
I have some exciting projects coming out soon with some of my favorite companies that my fans will love! As we near the new year, I also plan to ramp things up with content for my fan sites over the next few months.
9. What are your career goals for the next 2-5 years?
In the next two to five years, I would love to have my own production company up and running. I would like to have won a couple more awards. I would love to have starred in a few feature films. And I would love to have more mainstream work under my belt.
10. What do you hope is “your legacy” that you are known for in the adult entertainment industry?
I hope the legacy of Avery Jane will live on through Black women in hardcore. When people think of me, I want them to remember that Black women are not pigeonholed to the ‘Ebony’ category, but that we can do anal, we can do hardcore, we can do it all and be great at it. I hope my legacy as an anal-loving hardcore enthusiast, loud and proud ebony performer is long-lasting throughout porn history.
